3 Advantages of Using Biogas

Biogas is a non-fossil fuel and is an effective source of renewable energy. It is very much beneficial for the environment as it produces small amount of carbon dioxide, hydrocarbon, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide compared to diesel and petrol. You can use biogas as both raw material and fuel during the production of all types of organic compounds. There are several advantages of using biogas in Victoria.

These advantages are discussed below:
  • Supplies Energy Where It Is Necessary: It does not matter where the biogas plant is located as you can produce biogas everywhere. The biogas plant may be located in the rural or in the industrial area but you can easily produce heat and electricity where you need it. You can receive a steady heat supply and power supply from a normal-sized biogas plant. The smaller plants are more versatile as they can produce sufficient power for boiling and heating without using any kind of complicated technical equipments. Moreover, it is economically advantageous to use bacteria in order to produce high quality fuel.

  • Compatible to the Environment: It is not at all harmful to the environment as it does not produce additional carbon dioxide. Compared to the other fuels like diesel, biogas produces 80% less hydrocarbon. It helps to reduce further deforestation as people cut down trees to collect wood for heating purpose.

  • Reliable Source of Energy: Biogas never runs out and irrespective of the time and weather condition they can be produced all the time. You can produce biogas with the help of the industrial waste products and other renewable resources. It is a reliable source like the wind energy or solar energy. The supply of biogas is unlimited and can be produced till the day as long as human and animals exists on earth.

Other than producing heat and electricity biogas also helps in producing good quality fertilizers. It also does not intensify the greenhouse effect.
